What Is Domestic Violence?
This is a violent or aggressive behavior within the home, typically  involving the  abuse of a spouse or partner. 

Domestic violence has been a devil in the society as it has brought pain and tear to many, most especially children  which has adverse effects on them in many ways.

LETS HAVE A CHAT! 

 Do you know  that domestic violence is the the leading cause of somatic symptoms in most children that lives  in abusive homes.

Do you know that the topic" Domestic violence has been one of the trend settings in many countries this year as many has lost their lives , dreams have been shattered and hopes crushed.

Tyler Perry a famous celebrity suffered  from physical, and emotional abuse at the  hand of  his father,his  father bruttaly whipped him with a vacuum cord.
He suffered sexual abuse from several adult s in his childhood days and many times he attempted suicide.
Christiana Aguilera dealt with abuse from her father,who abused her and her mother.
I must say that  domestic violence cause a lot of damage to it's  victim and also affects the children more..

Let's look At The Impact Of Domestic violence On The Productivity of Children and Other Victims ,shall we?

As we all know, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE is one of the most common unsolved problem in Nigeria 

 

Domestic violence happens in 3 ways which are sexual, emotional and physical. 

Information of women in Nigeria shows that 58% or more have been abused and the environment doesn't seem safe anymore.

Among the 3 listed are two common ones; Physical and sexual violence. 

A woman used to be beaten once or twice every week. 

Lots of women are In muteness ,as they think it is a good way to keep happiness running in the family.
 

Furthermore, men think they can do anything as long they are the head of family, And as a result, these men beat women for unreasonable cause such as lack of funds for drinking, losing gamble and some might be suffering from brain disease e.g maniac depression. 

  This has adverse effect on It's  victims.

It causes health problem and even physical injuries. 

Even, rape isn't exceptional which is very rampant today. 

Children in the family becomes victims and don't have the chance to enjoy childhood which make them drop out of school. When they have no alternatives, they put end to their lives by going through an unending adventure (suicide).

The following secrets can help but not limited to this ;

   1) Public awareness:Good relationship can't be kept in a family atmosphere of those who don't even see the need for it. So the masses should be educated. Seminar programs should be held across the nation, in every local government and town which should not only be for the elites, but also for the poor men. Then They should be educated on the effects of domestic violence on them and their wards as well. 

2) Just as we have health centres, there should be counseling centers with well trained counselors where people can go to get advice about the emotional trauma they are going through. 

3) Domestic violence programs should be made more popular on TV stations than the normal BBnaija and zee world people view. Adverts should always be made on different channels, and the consequences of the actions should be clearly spelt
4:every citizen must be his or her brothers keeper and  maintain or keep good relationship with intimate partners and also comfortable family environment

5:prosecuting of offenders.

6:Setting up of organization.

6:People reporting offenders 

7:Setting up of stricter laws.

Having said all this ,life insn't  just about us only but also about the  voiceless, bringing peace to the society, community and the world at large should also be our purpose.
Be a hero today and save a life through saying "No to domestic Violence".

It might be hard at first but silence isn't the best answer, Charlotte bunch said" the sexual abuse and exploitation of children is one of the most vicious crime concievable , a violation of  Right ,mankind's most basic duty is to protect the children

"Nearly one in four women will experience Domestic Violence during her life time and slightly more than half of female victims of domestic violence live-in household with children under age 12( Twelve)" Tatum O'Neal quoted.

It  might be hard at first but think about the effect it will have on the children,no woman wants to wash her dirty linen in the public is what they say, but talk to them about how it will affect their children..
